Sahana Vij is a seventeen-year-old high school student from the Pacific Northwest. When not in school, Sahana swims laps in local lakes and pools, paints scenery with watercolors, and creates memorable desserts for her family and friends. From the early age of four, she has always loved to bake, and her parents (who are both avid cooks) are her inspiration. Spending time with them in the kitchen got her acquainted with simple techniques, and her curiosity led her to expand her horizons into baking. She hungered to learn new baking skills, and her constant practice grew into a passion and love for the activity.
As she visited her family around the country, her experiences influenced and inspired recipes, many of which are included in this book. Sahana developed a deep appreciation for baking as she experienced not only the bonding it fostered with those around her, but the impact she had on others by sharing her creations. Her desire to help others is reflected through this cookbook, as 100 percent of her royalties will be donated to fight child hunger. Sahana hopes she can share her experiences and love for baking with others and with that, help children in need.
